Sevi Spanoudi founded Black Major in 2012. The agency operates in four areas: artist management, event production, content licensing and production of music related film content which launched with “Future Sound of Mzansi”, Spoek Mathambo’s documentary on the landscape of electronic music in South Africa. Black Major has positioned itself left of centre developing artists with global appeal and producing content of international standard while maintaining a raw African identity. The agency currently represents 20 artists including Spoek Mathambo, John Wizards, Beatenberg, Bongeziwe Mabandla and Christian Tiger School all of whom have performed at leading international festivals including Primavera, Sonar and Glastonbury. Brands they have worked with include Adidas, Diesel, VICE, Vodafone, Absolut Vodka, Castle Light. Sevi Spanoudi is the former manager of Freshlyground, one of the most successful South African bands of all time. She has been 10 years active in the industry, has been involved in over 400 shows worldwide, 7 albums and a global number #1 hit with Freshlyground’s collaboration with Shakira for the FIFA World Cup 2010.
