Digital Lab Africa: the reference platform for next-gen content
Digital Lab Africa (DLA) is the first platform dedicated to creative content (immersive realities, video game, animation, music, digital art) linked with innovation in Africa. The very idea of DLA is to incubate emerging talent by offering them a springboard to fast track their projects development with the support and expertise of DLA creative industries ecosystem in France and in Sub-Saharan African countries.
Digital Lab Africa Call for Projects
The Digital Lab Africa call for projects targets artists, producers, designers, startups, students in the media and creative industries. The call is open to any professional or individual from Sub-Saharan Africa having an innovative project in 5 categories of multimedia production: digital art, immersive realities, video game, animation and music.
Digital Lab Africa Incubation Pass
Each selected applicants get a Digital Lab Africa Incubation Pass to fast track the development of his/her project
The DLA Incubation Pass includes:
- mentorship and training by experts from France and Sub-Saharan African countries
- residence time in France within digital cluster
- participation at international industry events
Created in 2016, Digital Lab Africa is an initiative of the French Institute and the French Embassy in South Africa, managed by the South African innovation hub Tshimologong Digital Innovation Precinct since 2018. The program is supported by Agence Française de Développement (AFD), SACEM, TRACE, TV5 Monde Afrique and a number of French and sub-Saharan African partners.
