Successful launch of Digital Lab Africa at DISCOP AFRICA Abidjan!
On the 1st of June, Frédéric Chambon, Regional Head of Media, Film & Music at the French Embassy in South Africa, launched Digital Lab Africa, a springboard for African talent in multimedia.
The launch took place in Abidjan during DISCOP AFRICA, in the presence of the Digital Lab Africa partners, Patrick Jucaud, founding manager of DISCOP Africa, Olivier Laouchez, CEO of TRACE and about 100 participants, including DISCOP delegates, journalists and bloggers as well as professionals from TV and multimedia.
The Ivorian Minister of Culture and Francophonie, Mr Maurice Kouakou BANDAMAN, also attended the launch and gave a warm welcome to the DLA initiative. The Minister of Trade of Côte d’Ivoire, Mr Jean Louis Billon, tweeted “the Digital Lab Africa platform addresses a huge need. Submit your innovative projects!”
The objective of Digital Lab Africa is to provide a springboard for African talent in multimedia creation and to make their project happen with the support of French leading companies (studios, producers, broadcasters, distributors) such as ARTE (web creation), Okio-Studio (virtual reality), CCCP (video game), and 1D Touch/Believe Digital (digital music).
