Okio-Studio, DLA partner & mentor of DLA VR winning project Round Round, awarded at the Paris Virtual Film Festival 2017

On 2 July, Okio-Studio’s VR short-film ALTERATION was awarded by the jury of the 2nd Paris Virtual Film Festival. The 17 minute-long sci-fi short by French director Jérôme Blanchet won the Golden Mask jury’s Special prize, among 14 other films in competition.

Coproduced by ARTE, ALTERATION is available for free on the Oculus Rift Store & on Arte360 VR, ARTE’s mobile broadcasting platform for 360° & VR content.

Parallel to this success, Antoine Cayrol, Okio-Studio’s cofounder & DLA mentor of the South-African VR film Round Round, decided to take a step further and produce the project. Round Round, by South African artist duo Shariffa Ali & Yetunde Dada, is set to be the first ever Virtual Reality coproduction between France & South Africa. The film should go to production by end year.
