TRACE launched Traceplay SVOD platform

Youth focused international media group and Digital Lab Africa partner TRACE launched its streaming service platform TracePlay last week. The service, dedicated to urban music and entertainment, offers a combination of SVOD, music & sports channels and live radio stations.

TracePlay offers live music channels such as Trace Urban (France’s #2 musical channel), Trace Africa and Trace Tropical, with genres ranging from R&B and hip-hop to Afrobeat,Soca, salsa and gospel music. Users will have unlimited access to ten live music and sports TV channels, alongside 31 live music radios and 2000 films, series, documentaries, concerts and TV shows on-demand.

“TracePlay has been our most ambitious project since our inception,” said TRACE CEO Olivier Laouchez. “We are the first in the world to launch a hybrid platform of SVOD, live TV and live radio, with seven geo-localised versions, simultaneously in over 200 countries and on multiple connected devices.”

The subscription service is currently available throughout Africa, both in English and French, for $4.99 a month.
