While remaining true to its DNA, the Forum Blanc has reinvented itself
to offer a wider vision of transmedia creation and brand content.
The Forum Blanc is 3 days of information, training, reflection and exchange between professionals about new supports for broadcasting and ways of communication.
These winter conferences promote reflection on current changes in uses and new content and will focus on technical developments, storytelling techniques, distribution channels and business models.
Forum Blanc 2017 is broadening its horizons by offering Tourism and Education workshops hosted by sector professionals, and has become Forum Blanc +, expanding into other fields of transmedia uses.
3 Days, 3 Topics, More Workshops…
The discussions will feature immersion, interactivity, storytelling, virtual and augmented reality…
Using the expertise of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Regional Tourism Committee and the Canopé network, the programme for Forum Blanc + 2017, dedicated to new uses and new content, will offer workshops and look into multiplatform deployments in Tourism and Education.
Vision: transmedia in Tourism
Starting Tuesday morning, 10th January, the stage will be given over to professionals working in tourism like Patrick Baud (author, animator and video maker, who has been sharing his passion for extraordinary stories and the marvels and curiosities of the world across diverse supports: radio, web, books and comic books, conferences and videos… His YouTube channel Axolot, created in 2013, now has over 400,000 followers) or Mélanie Bourdaa (lecturer at Bordeaux Montaigne University, whose current research project is about enhancing cultural heritage through transmedia storytelling).
Forum Blanc « historic channel »
From Tuesday afternoon to Thursday morning, the « traditional » Forum Blanc will be back with conferences entitled VR Content Distribution: Squaring 360 Degrees; VR: Revolution or Evolution of Pipelines?; Brand Content: When the Brand Creates Its Own Story or Transmedia Serving Social Subjects (the new poor, autism, sexual violence used as a strategy of war)…
Thursday 12th, transmedia in Education
Transmedia creations provide new training opportunities in schools and extra-curricular activities, particularly in strengthening knowledge and skills in media education. With this in mind, during the Education workshop on Thursday afternoon, Professors in Developmental Cognitive Psychology, Jean Ecalle and Annie Magnan, will open the discussions, followed by presentations of applications such as SwapTales: Leon!, an app to help kids with their reading.
Something else new for 2017: a space devoted to experimentation.
The Demo space, giving attendees the possibility to discover a few of the projects presented in their broadcasting conditions and catch up with some of the latest technologies.
